Mrs. Lydia Albin
I believe that all students deserve to receive a dynamic education that fits their needs, and should receive help so they can find a career that makes them happy and that they are well suited to. I also believe that all people are in control of their behaviors. I believe that thoughts affect feelings. I respect the freedom that people have to make choices and believe that teens and young adults need to be respected and be heard by their peers and the adults around them. I advocate for all students to reach their personal goals have the best the world has to offer. I like to connect with students by incorporating creativity into my counseling style by using video games, art, and music.
Education
I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Philosophy from California University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I am a licensed school counselor in the state of Indiana; my license allows me to work with students in grades Pre-K-12.
Professional Work
I have done research about how music affects memory and training of counseling site supervisors. I am interested in many topics that relate to school counseling, such as career exploration, relationship building, and creativity in counseling. I have presented at several conferences, including the Eastern Psychological Association, the Pennsylvania School Counselor's Association, and the American Counseling Association. I am currently a member of the American Counseling Association and the Indiana School Counselor’s Association.
